Bollingbrook Road

The existing building is a single storey residential dwelling set back from the main road, the bungalow dates from the 1960s and was divided into two separate dwellings in the early 1980s.

Our proposals include the addition of a new first floor with extensive alteration to the internal layout on the ground floor. The additional first floor will provide much needed accommodation to the property which is currently very small being effectively only half of the original bungalow. Although this property lies within a conservation area we feel that a contemporary approach is more appropriate on this site as the existing building currently stands out and is already separated from the adjoining Victorian terrace. There is also a mix of traditional and contemporary buildings in the local area and the development will sit comfortably next to the other half of the bungalow which is in separate ownership.

We are proposing a striking new contemporary design with rendered external walls, flush timber cladding and a glazed central section which will bring light into the centre of the house. The flat roof will minimise the scale and bulk of the building and reduce the impact on neighbouring properties.

We are currently applying for planning permission to the local council for this development and if successful will be starting on site later this year.
