The Oast House is situated in Kent and forms part of a large fruit producing farm. The building has been redundant and used only for storage for many years. The owners now wish to convert it into two or possibly three self-contained units for family members to use.
The existing building consists of an open plan central area with six oast roundels located around the perimeter. Our proposals show the conversion of half of the existing building including three of the roundels.
Accommodation is on three floors with the living room, kitchen and playroom on the ground floor accessed off an open plan hallway. Each of the living spaces has been located in a roundel, as have the five bedrooms which are on the first and second floors.
There would be little change to the external appearance to the building, with only the addition of some small windows in the roundel towers to indicate the change of use.
